Quality. Hugh Laurie is an all round good guy. And I love the blues.

Why what? Why the new thread or why is he recording a blues album?

The new thread, because its a new and newsworthy item. The album, because he's a guy with more than one string to his bow and he wants to live the dream. Don't lose sight of the fact that Meat himself is an actor first and a singer second.

well, personally speaking i think hugh is a better actor than meat, but i base that on hugh as house (and a multitude of different rolls in comedy) vs meat as meat doing different random films (and ocassionally a good one :-P)

Very cool!

I loved his parodies he'd do on A Bit Of Fry And Laurie back in the day! (I have the whole collection on DVD). He's such a great piano player...and a guitar player, singer and drummer.

Some people hog all the talent don't they?

My bass playing mate (who is amazing) can play the drums, piano, harmonica, guitar, banjo...the list goes on...he is one the guys that before I was in a band with him, I hated him coz he could play the drums better than me and he is a bass player

But I think its cool that Hugh is doing a blues album, I love the blues, and will have a listen when its released.

I can't be the only one who has the mental image of him singing serious songs in his George voice.

The album is excellent. I would not classify myself as a blues fan but this got my feet tapping.

I would recommend a listen!

It certainly is a tremendous album. You can hear the full on joy of the musicians loving what they're doing, just like Bruce Springsteen's Seeger sessions, Elton John and Leon Russell's The Union, or Meat's very own Hang Cool Teddy Bear. I find these albums best listened to on headphones so you can hear every tiny detail without background noise.
