Don't get me wrong Jim is an amazing song writer and when him and Meat get together the songs are amazing but I really hate the way people are saying in reviews on Amazon for example or when I talk about Meat with them that he's nothing without Jim. He has proven time and time again that this isn't the case it just annoys me when people instantly write of great albums like CHSIB and HCTB for example because Jim isn't involved.

Unfprtunately there are some people who are so closed minded that they are unable to admit that Meat can do more than sing Steinman.

Steinman is an amazing songwriter and Meat is an amazing artist and when they work together it is sublime but that does not mean that Jim is nothing without Meat or that Meat is nothing without Jim

thats what they are talking about... they WERE a great team.. and who knows? maybe theres unfinished business

dont look at it negatively, meat has gone on to make some great songs (and albums)

meat has prooved he can be sucessful without jim, and has even gone so far as too say that he needed to distance himself from the steinman environment after the bad experience with bat3 to be able to return to that enviroment (or something)

this will always happen, it doesnt matter what meat does? when you have an album the size of Bat out of Hell, world famous album etc etc,, thats what everything gets compared to? as its a blessing/but also a curse? but i think meat has done great albums since, and to be honest i dont even know if i think bat 1 is hes best album? its 7 fantastic songs!! and for crying out loud is on another planet!! but i plan to listen to all meats albums and have a re-think, but i do find myself listening to the more modern albums these days?
as for meat + jim ever working together again? well ive always said that if they really want to, they will? its as simple as that!!

People are always associated with the people who they enjoyed their greatest commercial success with. Lennon and McCartney's continuous association with The Beatles doesn't mean they never produced great solo material. These things come to be appreciated in time I think.

in my mind jim is nothing without meat.

I guess that Total Eclipse (sold 6 million copies) and No Matter What (record of the year in England for 1998 and #1 in 18 countries - the most successful single ever released from a musical in history) didn't happen then?

What you just said makes about as much sense as do the comments that this thread was started about.

Both Meat and Jim have had successful careers without each other, as well as their incredibly successful careers together.

I personally prefer Jim's "non-Meat" work to Meat's "non-Jim" work, but I can't deny Meat's success without Jim any more than anyone else should be able to deny Jim's without Meat.

a perfect final word Mr. Ake!

thread closed as this will only lead to insults and the old Meat/Jim debate going round and round and round and round and round and...
