If he wants someone to get a campaign going, I'm only too happy to help :-)

The Bat Out Of Hell singer said his UK taxes were too high and promised he was eligible to run as he made a bid to become leader.

Meat Loaf wants to be the next Prime Minister
"I want to run for Prime Minister," the 62-year-old told the Daily Star. "I am British, I just can't find my birth certificate. I lived in London for a while and I still pay taxes in the UK. I pay a lot."

He went on: "They say I can get tax credits for working over here, but I wouldn't want to pay for a house in the UK right now, you get nothing. It's cheaper to live in Beverly Hills."

But the campaign may face an uphill struggle, as the Texan admitted his recent battle against vertigo means people often mistakenly think he's drunk.
."It's a drag because my balance is really wacky," he said.

"I hear myself on TV sometimes slurring my words and people always go: 'Is he drunk or on drugs?' It's like when people have strokes and it can happen at any time, but I'm not stoned."

Meat Loaf's new album, Hang Cool Teddy Bear, is out now.

If they don't vote him in for the UK, he can always give Australia a go, we'll take him over Rudd any day!!
