What was everyones favourite kids programme or cartoon when they were younger?
Mine was He-Man and the masters of the universe - I have just bought the entire episodes off ebay and it's great to be able to see them again after all these years.
I always loved watching the X-Men when I was younger, it was my favourite.
Also liked He-Man, The Pirates Of Darkwater and the Thunderbirds.
He-Man, Barbapapa, some cartoons, A-team, Dukes of Hazzerd.
He-man, The A-Team, Transformers - robots in disguise! and cartoons like Henry's House or Rhubarb and Custard.
And what about Mr Benn, Bananaman, Playschool and many many more.

Dangermouse was quite good too.
I loved Knightrider and The A Team but after watching the re-runs on sky I have realised how corney they were.
Anyone remember Emu and Grotbags?
how about
'Count Duckula'
'Alf - The alien'
'A - Team'
'Button Moon'
'DJ Kat'
'Teenage Turtles'
Rainbow! Got all the dvds now stil makes me laugh!lol
There used to be a prog on tv called children of the sun or cities of gold....I think I'm the only person in the world who remembers it! I loved it and cried when they took it off air! Still remember the theme tune too...
"Children of the sun
see your fun has just begun
searching for new ways
for adventures every day
every day and night
with the condor in flight
we will find out way to the city
city of gold" lol
Thundercats was purdy cool too!

I'm livin' in Hungary, so my fav cartoons were Hungarians and East-Europeans. My fav was a Polish (I think) cartoon: Pampalini! It was a story of a clumsy hunter who was fighting against bears and lions at the ending. He set a trap but he always fell into...
My fav long cartoon was a Hungarian cartoon: Cat-Catcher! It's great and very funny. But I love Snowhite and more Disney production...

I can remember Mysterious cities of gold.
If you search ebay you might be able to find the odd video.
I paid £50 for the he-man videos and the quality is not so good but most are watchable and it's good to see it after all these years.
hey, i forgot this one. what about GHOSTBUSTERS!!

My favorite was the one that was on Saturday morning, with Superman, BatMan and the Wonder Twins- was it Justice League of America? I think it was another title but I can't remember....
I also loved Looney Tunes, every day at 3PM. That was immediately followed by Gilligan's Island at 3:30, another big favorite of mine. I actually met Gilligan, Mary Ann and the Professor about 7 years ago. Gilligan and the Professor were very nice, but Mary Ann wasn't so pleasant. I may be mentally scarred forever- sweet little Mary Ann wasn't so sweet! Between that and the fact that my childhood crush the Professor was pushing 75 it was kind of wierd!
As an 8 to 13 year old I was completely obsessed with the Monkees. The shows then were about 10 years old, but I loved them. I was a major Mike fan. Oddly, I've had tickets to see three of the four Monkees in concert and all three have been cancelled! Davy due to intense lightening at an outdoor concert, Peter due to his group breaking up immediately before the concert and Mike due to illness. Apparently I was never meant to see the Monkees.
As a teen (and a bit now, I have to say) I was crazy for Doctor Who. I went to every Who con that came to Florida, and met Patrick Troughton, Peter Davidson, and Colin Baker, along with most of UNIT. It isn't shown in my area anymore, and I miss it!

Anyone remember Land Of The Giants? That was a great show.

Was Land of the Giants the one where the family went back in time to prehistoric times? I seem to remember that that one, and "Dr. Shrinker" scared the tar our of me when I was about 6!
Sherrie
Don't really remember much about Land Of The Giants, just remember watching it and that I liked the giant sized matchsticks and the ropes made from string with a bent paperclip for a hook.

I think the one set in prehistoric times was actually called "Land of the Lost" now that I think about it. Hey, I'm going back over 25 years in my memory and things get a bit cloudy!
Sherrie
Don't think I know Land Of The Lost, Land Of The Giants was originally from th 60's but I saw the re-runs when I was a kid in the late 80's
The Flying Mouse

 What a great topic :D .
Does anybody remember Dog Tanian and the Muskerhounds?
What about Around the world with Willie Fog?
To go back a little further,Rent-a-ghost.
MMh, don't know any of those Flying Mouse.
I did watch:
MASK
X-Men
A-Team (when I was 6 I was in hospital and wasn't alowed to watch..It must have given me a trauma, cause I have never forgotten)
Dukes of Hazard
Spiderman
Superman
Smurfen
and the list goes on.....
I remember Dog Tanian and i remember Cities of Gold and Emu (did you know Rod Hull is now dead? Fell off his roof trying to adjust the TV aerial in a thunderstorm to pick up a Man Utd game!)
What about "why Don't You?" or Fraggle Rock? Also I used to watch Postman pat. But they have ruined it now. Pat is married to Sarah and has a son! I suppose this means he isn't having a fling with Mrs Goggins from the Post Office!!!
I won't even start on memories of watching
CBBC from the broom cupboard with Ed the Duck, he wasn't a patch on Gordon Gopher!!!!
Great memories!!!!!!
EDIT: AAARRRRCCHHHH!!!!!!!
I forgot Bagpuss and Bertha and Johnny Ball Explains All and even Johnny Briggs!!!! And what about Tony Hart's Gallery!!!!

He-Man
She-Ra

I ahd forgotten about Button Moon,
"We're to Button moon,

Mr Spoon"
Did you know that was sung by Peter Davison who wnet on to be Doctor Who and in the Victoria Wood shows!
I also used to love Trumpton and Cmaberwick Green, How Windy Miller got in and out of the windmill after getting p*ssed on cider and without being decapitated by the sails I'll never know!!
Anyone remember Playschool before it became Playdays and Playbus? in the days when it was Brian Cant and Floella Benjamin (and didn't Jeremy Irons, star of films like Stealing Beauty and Die hard with a Vengance used to present it) with Jemima and Big Ted!?? When they used to sing songs like
"Do your ears hang low
do they wobble too and fro
can you tie them in a knot
can you tie them in a bow
Can you toss them over your shoulder
like a regimental soldier
do your ears hang low?"
or even
"How high does a fly fly if a fly fleis ever so high?"
(can't remember all the words to that one but I have the Playschool tape somewhere in the loft!)

I can't even begin to tell you how much of a crush I had on Peter Davison when I was in high school! I finally got to meet him at a Doctor Who convention when I was in college and I was speechless! Is he still seen on occasion on TV there?
Sherrie
He appears quite alot on TV. Last thing i saw him in was called "The Last Detective" a sort of private eye sort of programme. He is one of the actors who you see on TV a couple of times a week as support in programmes. Sort of the guy whose wife is murdered in The Bill.
Isn't he married now to that woman with the voice who used to be Trillian in The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy? Sandra something or other i think her name was?

Yes, as of the last I heard they were still married and had been for quite some time- well over 15 years. He was a delight when I met him, but really all of the Doctor Who folks are great. I especially liked the fellows from UNIT- Nicholas Courtney (The Brigadier), John Levene (Sgt. Benton) and Richard Franklin (Capt. Yates), I met all of them at a Florida convention in August 1984 where the air conditioning broke- they nearly melted!
Sherrie
I ahev never really seen Doctor Who. It is on over here a lot on satellite but I don't have that. None of the four terrestial channels seem to show it!!
Read a fair few of the books though
