View Full Version : Meat on Shatner's Raw Nerve

According to a trailer I saw at 4AM this morning, and coverage on the Biography Channel's website, Meat will be appearing on Shatner's Raw Nerve interview show on Tuesday, December 29th at 10:30PM Eastern Time (MacKensie Phillips is on from 10:00-10:29PM). There is a short preview from Meat's interview on the Biography Channel site. It should be fascinating; Bill Shatner is a fascinating, no-nonsense guy whose interview show has 'taken off' due to his to-the-bones interview style.

Looks like an amazing show - I hope it's on the UK Bio channel, and I hope Shat gets some Q&A in with Meat!

I've never watched the show before, but I bet it will be fascinating and I'm really looking forward to it :))

I had fallen asleep on the couch with the Biography Channel on, and I can't remember now whose story I was watching, lol. When I awoke after about 3 hours, it was nearly 4AM, and as I was getting ready for bed, the trailer came on, much to my surprise and delight!

It was just Meat waking you up. Not a bad thing to have happen. LOL.

The biography channel here showed his last series so hopefully they will do the same for the new one. The Tim Allen one was really good.

Good show, I don't want to spoil for those that haven't seen it. However, I'll say the last two minutes or so was devoted to the new album. The concoction Meat described this new cd as, had me laughing.... can you believe that one.

It was great, and I really enjoyed the entire interview :-)
My only (minor) complaint is that it wasn't long enough.

I agree with you Vicki. I found myself trying to hurry up the commercials.

Me too !! But I have to admit I got a kick out of the ones where William Shatner was interviewing himself ...

Totally understand you not wanting to give anything away...

But...

I don't think I will be able to see that programme here in poor old the UK of GB&NI... Would you be able to PM me some highlights or maybe start a thread with a big SPOILER warning in the title?

As it's kinda Christmas?

Pretty please? :D

hope it comes out on DVD with extra material. Obviously edited for TV. He said hardly anything about Bat out of hell! You'd think Shatner'd ask him about his bankrubsy, Mowtown, and Rocky Horror

Not really... I don't have a whole ton of faith in The Shat.

I doubt it will ... but I would love to see what they edited out
But I really enjoyed the personal feel of the show and listening to Meat talk more about his family. You could tell it was extremely emotional.

Oh you tease Vickip - thanks for posting that, wanna see more!

Looks like a good chat show though, because The Shat allows the guest time to answer, seems genuinely interested in the answers, and (I'm betting) asks some pretty unusual questions!

They post the entire episodes on the Biography Website, so hopefully it'll be on there soon.

And yes, you hit the nail on the head ... that's exactly why the show is so interesting. I just wish it was longer than 30 minutes.

Those commercials will drive you wild; I know they have to sell, but 5 minutes at a time!!!??? It took away so much time from the interview.

After watching Mackensie Phillips first, then Meat, and a preview of Gene Simmons, I think Shatner goes for personal childhood family stuff, plus whatever is going on immediately in the artist's life. So with Meat he covered stories about childhood, parents, and the record he's working on. There wasn't time for anything else. I too wish it were an hour instead of only a half, and I'd give a mint for the outtakes. The chemistry between Shatner and Meat felt good; would love to know Meat's feelings about it.

tbh it would be a refreshing change for an interview not to be dominated by Bat, i know it was a big part of Meat's career and what he is most remembered for but its been done and done and done,he has done so much since and i'm not really into listening to the same thing being said just in a different setting

Me three!

Yes, the interview was not dominated by Bat .... I liked the fact that Shatner let Meat speak through his whole thoughts without interruption (or maybe that was edited nicely). Anyway, I thought the chemistry came across well.

The last dominated bat interview has to be the one he had with George on The Hour. I respect both Meat and George. But that was a conversation I'm glad that never aired on TV.

Got to see it yesterday. Definitely the best Meat interview I've seen in a long time.
