Not only am I worried that I might diabetes I think I have it a lot longer than I know..... even a few years.

First of all a couple of years back I had an awful facial flushing problem and I still have it, and the feeling that I'm burning up inside. But one thing I've had for a while is this sensation that I'm really thirsty despite not being thirsty at all I could have drank a litre of water a few minutes before... this only lasts a few seconds and goes away it doesn't happen very often. I also have other things that have never been explained such as tinnitus...even though I passed a hearing test and have no problems with my ears. Also when I'm in bed when my eyes are open.. the dark room looks distorted like my eyes are fuzzy or something. I have awful low levels of energy..despite being very thin I can't hardly run..and I burn out quickly. Also I got the smallest little cut on my finger a few months back...and it bled really bad I just couldn't get it to stop bleeding. There's so many odd things going on.. and I've never had my blood checked either.

Should I see the doctor on Monday and ask for a blood test?...I know something is going to show up...there's just too much going on here, and I'm 90% certain that I have diabetas...and the thoughts of it are scaring me.

May I suggest a trip to the doctors?

I second what Evil One says. Definitely make a trip to the docs. Tell them what symptoms you've been having and ask them to check it out :-) Good luck!

many people live comfortably with diabetes, its not the end of the world, good luck.

being thin doesnt make you fit, not being able to run can just mean you are unhealthy, tinnitus is usually related more to exposure to too much loud noise, lack of energy can mean lack of iron etc

you get what i'm trying to say?

I know all that and I've taken Vitamins..exercised etc...

But the intersting thing is I had non of the above symptoms when I was taking a medication.. that's also used off-label to treat "diabetic neuropathy" It's when I came off the medication that things got worse.

After being to the doctors..... got examined....it's looks like it's hyperthyroidism :( god knows how long I have it for.

Over-active thyroid ... causes high heart rate, weight loss, irritability and a host of other possible symptoms. Very common in older cats, like one of ours at the moment (which is how come I know about it!). He (the cat, not steve6) is on tablets for a month then an operation. A friend of mine has it too and is on tablets for life.

No doubt steve6's doctor will have requested a blood test for a definite diagnosis.

I have the opposite. I have a low thyroid. It is not much to worry about. I just take pills for the rest of my life to make mine higher. I just dont have to much enthusiasm to do anything if I dont take my medicine. I know people with hyperthryroidism and they do just fine on medication. Its really going to be okay. At least that is all it was. Could have been worse. Good luck.

I'm impressed your doctor actually diagnosed something Steve (though hope they follow up like Dave said, and that it's all sorted out ok) - when I first went to my doctor's complaining about my migraines (which last for days and at the time used to happen several times each month) they did a blood test, didn't find anything that suggested I was about to die and prescribed strong painkillers. After a while of living off painkillers, I suggested to the doc that may not be the best long term solution and her response was "if it was something serious you'd've already died". Thanks. Took 7 or 8 years before they actually worked out what it was and found a better solution!
