Hello :D

Why is it impossible to get hold of a Blind Before I Stop CD?

http://meatloaf.net/music/index.php?mode=view&album_id=11&type=lp

I have litteraly searched every major webshop online, but noone have this album. I have found some used versions, but I want a new one... ;)

Any idea :??:

I initially had some troubles getting hold of a Bad Attitude CD also, but I finally managed it in august 2008 (from cdzone.co.uk).

I've been searching, often finding but never around long enough for a decade. I still haven't found it. Sounds like the basic all steel canopener that is lying somewhere around the house.

I found both mine (second hand) on ebay, I think it's discontinued that's why you can't find it.

Unfortunately, they prefer to flood the market with compilations instead of re-releasing Meat's less popular albums. There is a CD box called Rock 'n' Roll Hero that actually contains the albums Bad Attitude, Blind Before I Stop and Live but they were mixed up. The tracklist of CD 1 looks like this, for example: Three songs from Live, two from Blind Before I Stop, three from Bad Attitude, two from Blind Before I Stop.

It took me ages to find it as well, but eventually I got it off ebay, not sure if it was new or second hand though. It does turn up occasionally on ebay so just keep checking and you may get lucky one day.

are there actually any numbers out htere how many cds have been pressed? I mean it's not supposed to be rare, like the CHSIB lp for example, yet a lot of fans have problems to get their hands on a BBIS copy.

An advice: If it's just the music you want, and not the actual disk, look for the vinyl lp on ebay, it's a lot cheaper and easier to find.

It comes up quite often on American Amazon and American E-Bay...Americans are much more apt to part with ML stuff than Europeans...

Why would you want to?!

I quite like BBIS...never mind the production which sucks...the album does have it's merits for the fans.

try amazon.de, at the moment they show three used copies non of each more expensive than 6,50€. They also show a new one for 40€.

If I'm interpreting this Amazon.com listing (http://www.amazon.com/Blind-Before-Stop-Meat-Loaf/dp/B0025BR21W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1239206569&sr=1-5) correctly, BBIS is going to be reissued in June, on Wounded Bird Records, the same label that did the Ellen Foley reissues (http://mljs.evilnickname.org/ellenfoley.html). (Nothing to be found on their site though.)

Just got a reply from Wounded Bird Records saying that they couldn't obtain the rights to add any bonus tracks. Which would indicate that BBIS indeed is going to be reissued.

Exciting :-)

Are these reissued versions exact replicas of the original CD's? Songs, inlay-graphics, and so on?

Try HMV they are showing a re-release date of 11/5/08 at £8.99 with free UK delivery.

I know you may have to pay a little extra for post to Norway but it would still be cheaper than the new prices I have seen elsewhere

The three Ellen Foley reissues I have are quite similar to the respective LP versions. In this case, I don't have a clue beyond what I already posted.

This don't fit in here, but I found this CD called "Bad Attitude" for 170 Euro (!!!!) on play.com. Can anybody tell me what's special with this??? Looks like another compilation of well known songs.

Actually I payed a lot more for the LP I got as it came out in 86 than the cd I found later. It's not the best album Meat did, but there are a few on my favorites on that

Tracks:
1. Rock'N'Roll Mercenaries
2. Getting Away With Murder
3. Modern Girl
4. Jumpin' The Gun
5. Nowhere Fast
6. Standing On The Outside
7. Piece Of The Action
8. Cheatin' In Your Dreams
9. Bad Attitude
10. Blind Before I Stop
11. Paradise By The Dashboard Light (Live)
12. Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad (Live)
13. Bat Out Of Hell (Live)

So it has nothing to do with the original "Bad Attitude" album from 1984.

Wounded Bird Records (http://www.woundedbird.com/) was formed in 1998 as a label that specializes in the reissue of albums from the 60's, 70's and early 80's on compact disc.

All of our releases are properly licensed from the owner of the original masters, in most cases the original record label and sometimes the artists themselves.

We strive to reproduce the original album cover artwork, converted to accommodate the CD size format.

They didn't originally release the album (RCA and Arista did that in the States and the rest of the world resp.), but they are doing the reissue. Just as they did the Ellen Foley ones. Those were on Epic/Cleveland International originally.

This might be a little off topic, though my blind before i stop is in the "live at wembley" CD and not on Bad Attitude as someone earlier mentioned.

There's also a compilation album (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bad-Attitude-Meat-Loaf/dp/B000056UVH/ref=sr_1_8) called "Bad Attitude" …

Sony must own the 5 albums but they've done NOTHING except release pathetic compilations that tell the audience Meat's career died in the 80s.

If you thought BBIS was hard to get hold of you should try finding the RCA release of Bad Attitude.

I like the UK Bad Attitude well enough, but what I've heard of the RCA release sounds better produced and I'm having no luck finding it :(

Sorry for going off topic a bit

Regularly on Ebay, if the seller realises what they've got and promote it as the RCA one the price is usually steep, I got mine by trawling through the listings and checking who released it but then again I'm a tight git.

Let's face it, he put out some okay albums, but until Bat II, the stuff he was putting out couldn't even get him arrested.

Yeah I managed to finally get it on ebay, it's hard to find but does come up occasionally, and like you say often gets expensive. I missed out on it a few times as it got too expensive before getting it for a reasonable price.
