What exactly is this?
IMDB says it's the last movie he played a role in, from last year, but I absolutely cant remember anyone posting about promo, premiere, reviews or actually seeing it.

Has anyone seen it at all? lol
Is it available on DVD?
is it good?

According to the IMDB message board, there was a problem with the producer and the actors weren't paid :( Apparently the movie was confiscated and no one knows if or when it will be released.

Old thread, I know, but I just stumbled upon this on IMDB:

MTV: Tell us about your upcoming flick "Urban Decay."

Meat Loaf: That's a big giant mess. The producer ran off with the
money, and they haven't paid the Teamsters, and [the Screen Actors
Guild] has confiscated the film. So there you go. That was a cool
little thing, though. It was the hardest thing I had ever done in my
life. I did 22 pages in one day. It was all monologue.

MTV: Will it ever see the light of day?

Meat Loaf: No, not unless I get someone to put it on my reel

Dont know if this is real or not, as the poster didnt give a source for the text.

22 pages of monologue sounds like 3 hours movie...and all in one day...

Saw it on Chiller last month.

Its out on DVD, heres the cover:

http://twitchfilm.net/pics/urban_decay.jpg

Terrible. It just had a freak in a hood killing homeless people randomly. No plot just gore and bad acting by all (exept meat). I'd rather have listened and seen Meat's entire 22 page monolaugue than that crap.

Of all the Meat movies I perfer 51st state. the best role Meat ever played: the Lizard. Eating that explosive was so cool!

you absolutely sure?? :?

No, only picture I could find on google. Guess its the DVD cover or poster. But I know for a fact I saw it on DVD on ebay once or twice.

But what i am 100% sure is that movie was on Chiller in October last month.

It was followed by War of the Gargantuans (highly reccomended)

what's chiller? is that a tv station?

I wonder that no one ever heard about this, :?

Have to try to track down a copy then

Wario

Wish I DVRed it. But i'm a doofus lol.

Chiller is a hooror/thriller movie channel. Tales of the Crypt and Monsters airs on that frequently. Guess its a US channel. Own by VH1 and reruns of Behind the Music air on it too.

does nobody say they record anything anymore :?

I do!!

Setting the digi-box to record something is still sometimes referred to as "video-ing" chez Andyk!

Then again I'm one of the slightly younger dinosaurs on this forum who remembers when a remote control was attached to the video by a cable!

A rose by any other name...

Your amusing story in re: attached cable remote reminds me of my first TV in America...we found it in the garbage and it was that huge console TV that didn't have any remotes but rather this huge knob that you had to click to get 2 channels which worked on that TV...yeah...you've come a long way, baby...

Yeah! :))

With so many remotes these days I quiter like the retro idea ... iuf they're tethered to the gadget they control then there's potentially less chance of losing them!!

carole
08 Nov 2008, 13:19
Yeah I remember those days, when TV's didn't have a remote and you actually had to get up out of your chair and turn the knob to change the channel or turn it on or off. Now I'm really going to show my age, I even remember when colour TV's first came out. Boy that was exciting!!!!

Zina is exactly right.

but that was when kids did something productive with their time other than staring at a screen be it tv or computer.

If i had my way the tv wouldntbe on half as much as it is in our house, the noise drives me crazy sometimes!!

I hate to be the spoilsport here, but does anyone have any more info if UD really aired on tv/was released on dvd?

vrg
10 Nov 2008, 21:51
No info on UD, RJ, but was going "ouch!" at Zina's description of early TVs. Getting up to change channels was the way it was 'back then'. And we didn't have many channels, either - at first, just 3 - CBS, ABC and NBC! I remember having trouble understanding why the actors/performers wore color costumes (colors showed in publicity pics in color print magazines or in-between the feature movie) when they were being televised in black and white!

Doing away-from-TV living was also still the norm back then; obesity was in the minority. McDonalds came later.

Seems like another century and another planet compared to now.
