Have to share this with you all....

Today, here in Wales, we are having elections, to the Welsh assembly and also to the local government. It's been a hectic few weeks with campaigners everywhere, and people putting up posters in thier front windows to show them thier support.

Now those who know me, know that i've been trying to promote Meat's new album. I've been printing posters and giving them out to friends and family to put in thier front windows and cars, basically to get Meat seen as much as possible. I've put them everywhere, including my Granny's front window.

My granny's 95, tone deaf, a little short sighted, but otherwise in perfect health, and she insisted on going to the polling station today to vote, so i offered to go with her.

So we go in, she takes her voting slip and goes into the booth to vote. Two seconds later she comes out, very upset, and marches over to the adjudicating officer, demanding to know where Mr Loaf's box was as she 'wanted to vote for that nice Mr Loaf from the Better party'......

I was in hysterics laughing, as she was really shouting at this poor man, who was mortified. It was only when she stopped to draw breath that i realised she thought that because she had a poster of Meat in her front wondow, he was a candidate for the Welsh assembly elections!!!!

After a few minites of this adjudicating officer prancing round shouting about perculiar irregularites, my gran finally decided that if she couldn't vote for Mr Loaf then she wasn't going to vote for anyone, and demanded i take her home....

Just thought you'd get a chuckle out of that

OMG Heat...too funny.

I've got one to share w/ you. Several years ago took my grandmother to the polls. She came out of the booth after voting, rather upset. It seems she voted straight Communist! They did give her a new ballot when she said she made a mistake. Always thought the neighbors would surely wonder who the communist in this rural area was, if they hadn't given her a new ballot.

That was a while back, she still votes regularly, will turn 97 later this month. Aren't some of these grannies amazing?

I love these stories!!
Sorry, I didn't respond to this sooner, Heat. Been telling this story to everyone today. Was too busy to tell you what a great story this is.
Voting for Mr. Loaf! YES!
Next election I am doing that too.

I was raised by my grand- father/mother, every year on their birthday, they asked me what it was I wanted for THEIR birthday! They loved me so much, now I can only try to pass this on.

We should cherish these people, also because laughing is so good for you!
