maybe more time was needed to push the 25th anniversary special edition relrelease of the biggest selling record ever...so they had to delay this

I thank Kev for the updates (be them good or bad news) but to be quite honest I don't even think about "new" albums until they're on the shelves, the amount of albums/singles that we're meant to have seen over the past 18 months that have come to nothing is unreal

Thats a fair point, it seems to go a long way back with Meat.

My vote is for letting the fans decide the next product Meat releases. My personal choice would be a retrospective of Meat's entire career, with bonus tracks for almost every album. And we start with the early albums, the albums where Meat was starving for success and hitting his stride.

The Meat Loaf Albums, Vol. I

Stoney and Meat Loaf: (I'd Love to Be) as Heavy as Jesus, She Waits by the Window, It Takes All Kinds of People, Stone Heart, Who is the Leader of the People?, Game of Love, Kiss Me Again, What You See is What You Get, The Way You Do the Things You Do, Sunshine (Where's Heaven?), Let Me Come Down Easy, Jimmy Bell, Lady be Mine, Everything Under the Sun, Jessica White

Bat Out of Hell: Great Boleros of Fire, Bat Out of Hell, You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night), Heaven Can Wait, All Revved Up With No Place to Go, Two Out of Three Ain't Bad, Paradise by the Dashboard Light, For Crying Out Loud

Dead Ringer: Come in the Night / Let the Revels Begin, Peel Out, I'm Gonna Love Her for Both of Us, More Than You Deserve, I'll Kill You if You Don't Come Back, Read 'Em and Weep, Nocturnal Pleasure, Dead Ringer for Love, Everything is Permitted

Midnight at the Lost and Found: Razor's Edge, Midnight at the Lost and Found, Wolf at Your Door, Keep Driving, The Promised Land, You Can Never Be Too Sure About the Girl, Priscilla, Don't You Look at Me Like That, If You Really Want To, Lost Love, Fallen Angel

Bad Attitude: Clap Your Hands, Bad Attitude, Modern Girl, Take a Number, Nowhere Fast, Surf's Up, Piece of the Action, Jumpin' the Gun, Cheatin' in Your Dreams, Don't Leave Your Mark on Me, Sailor to a Siren, Stand by Me

Can't see that happening as Meat has said about the Stoney & Meat Loaf recording;

"You can burn that thing for all I care !"

Quite simply because he didn't have a say in it and had no hand in producing it and as we are all aware by now, Meat strives for perfection and so I can't see Stoney & Meat Loaf released anytime in the near future.
But that is only my two cents.

Who knows? Things change with time. Maybe Meat looks back fondly on some of the songs now?

Anyway, here comes the second half:

The Meat Loaf Albums, Vol. 2

Blind Before I Stop: Execution Day, Rock and Roll Mercenaries, R.P.M., Gettin' Away with Murder, One More Kiss (Night of the Soft Parade), Blind Before I Stop, Burning Down, Standing on the Outside, Masculine, A Man and a Woman, Special Girl, Rock and Roll Hero

Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell: I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That), Life is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back, Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through, It Just Won't Quit, Out of the Frying Pan (And Into the Fire), Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are, Wasted Youth, Everything Louder Than Everything Else, Good Girls Go to Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere), Back into Hell, Lost Boys and Golden Girls

Welcome to the Neighborhood: Where the Rubber Meets the Road, I'd Lie for You (And That's the Truth), Oh, What a Beautiful Morning, Original Sin, 45 Seconds of Ecstasy, Runnin' for the Red Light (I Gotta Life), Fiesta de las Almas Perdidas, Left in the Dark, Not a Dry Eye in the House, Amnesty is Granted, If This is the Last Kiss (Let's Make it Last All Night), Martha, Where Angels Sing

Couldn't Have Said it Better: Couldn't Have Said it Better, Did I Say That?, Why Isn't That Enough?, Love You Out Loud, Man of Steel, Unsaid, Intermezzo, Testify, Tear Me Down, You're Right, I Was Wrong, Decadent Wish, Because of You, Do It!, Forever Young, Mercury Blues

Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose: DISC ONE -- The Monster is Loose, Blind as a Bat, It's All Coming Back to Me Now, Bad for Good, Cry Over Me, Whore, In the Land of the Pig, the Butcher is King, I Saw Elvis in Vegas, Monstro, Alive; DISC TWO -- If God Could Talk, Black Betty, (It Hurts) Only When I Feel, I Wanna Be With You, What About Love?, Seize the Night, The Future Ain't What It Used to Be, Cry to Heaven, Echo/Heaven Can Wait

While I don't see it happening, I wouldn't mind some properly remastered re-issues -- and that does not mean, "let's make it louder and be done with it". Also, I think it would be a very bad idea to break up the established track order in order to cram in some bonus tracks. Just tack those on the end or put 'em on a second disc.

For example, "Stand by me" and "Clap your hands" were recorded in '75 during the RHPS-soundtrack sessions. Meat's voice sounds nothing like it did on Bad Attitude, the sound is different, and they're not very good songs either.

Sadly, it'd never happen do to the different record companies. Plus, Meat has no say whatsoever on what old material is released.

Saw the new "collection" while I was in Tower Records today...same sh!t different day as i thought it would be...nothing original.

My guess is they will keep on delaying this 3 bats live cd version now if Meat adds more tour dates.

Plus for the Volume 1 and Volume 2 you are looking at, like Kev says the record companies would never agree, you would be talking about 100 quid for something like that.

If people were not buying Bat III i doubt they would buy something like that, simply for a couple of unreleased songs. Plus the other thing is, are all these unreleased songs, even good enough to be released as demos.?They could be simply ideas.

How come I dont have the same Bat 3 album as what is listed here??

Because the track listing you quoted is a figment of WhenItComes2LovingU's fantasy imagination ... a listing based on all th epossible songs that could have bene on Bat III if all the rumours had come true around the time it was recorded.

Hey, not all of it's my imagination. "Whore" and "Black Betty" did come out as B sides and at one point were part of an early track list. As for "I Saw Elvis in Vegas" and "I Wanna Be With You," I'd like to remind you that I was the one who found out who wrote the damn things in the first place when before we knew nothing, so I'd be careful what is said to me.

Mature post

AndyK's post was assuring Couch Potato that the track listing from you wasn't one that was actually released and so he doesn't have something missing from his collection, so I'd read posts properly before being quite that rude.

 You jest?

I should have got to spec savers because I can't believe i'm reading this right :wtf:

OK, now i'm going to type this very slowly so you can keep up, OK? :yep:

Let me clue you in here.

There are people who post on this forum that are walking encyclopedias on everything Meat has ever done.

One person at least (I won't embarrass you by name, although I think it's utterly BRILLIANT  ) is named in the thanks part of Meat's autobiography.

There are also people who on a regular basis post right up to the minute news on what's going on in the Meat Loaf word.
Certainly far before .net gives any information out.

To post something like the quotation I have taken from you, frankly it baffles me

To announce you found out who wrote a song in such a pompous tone, and with such arrogance does not show that you make a great contribution, quite the opposite.
If that is your greatest contribution to the ML community, you are highlighting how much it pales in comparison to what others have shared.

Posting like that is NOT going to earn you any respect around here, and IMHO makes you look very childish.

Take some good advice and ask myself or another staff member to delete that message at their first moment of Convenience, and start rethinking how you post on this forum.
