I hope so, I would really love to Meet Meat as I have missed out on so much oppertunities over the past years - what with being too young!

Can this be a 16 years olds dream come true this Glasgow gig? I really do hope so :-)

I really can't see M&G's running this leg...meeting fans backstage through October and November will be too much of a risk for Meat catching a flu bug

So it's not quite a meet and greet but Champagne and Chocolate with the band after the show this time. Sounds great :D

Does anyone know if that contest is .net members only, or if anyone at all can enter?

CHAMPAGNE AND CHOCOLATE WITH THE MEAT LOAF BAND!
Beginning with Meat Loaf's October 24th show in Numberg, Germany, Meat would like to offer two (2) pairs of passes for champagne and chocolate with Meat Loaf's band after the show, "and maybe a couple of beers", for every show through the November 11th show in Cardiff. All fans, (yes ALL FANS) have to do is send an email to contest@meatloaf.net and indicate the date and show for which you are entering. We'll pick two winners at random for each show and each winner will receive two (2) passes! So get your concert ticket and sign up for the contest!

Only one entry per show and winners must already hold tickets to the show to participate.

The above is from the email I received this morning.... i've put those bits in bold because to me it reads that anyone who has a ticket to a show can enter this.

I could be wrong but that's how I read it.

The ticket rule applied to the Meet and Greets that ran in May, I took it that a) the tickets aren't included, and b) don't enter the contest on the basis that you might be going to avoid winning and then not being able to attend

no idea how they control it though, they dont ask for a ticket code, seat number or anything. I just mailed them that I'm attending Wembley...

For me I just put
Glasgow SECC, 28th October 2007 as the subject
then the general name (so then they know if your a member or not) and contact email and phone number....

Guess thats right..

We didn't need to give any other info for the meet n greet contest last time. Obviously if you don't actually have a ticket for the show there'd be no point in entering cos you wouldn't get in the door of the venue.

no offence to anyone but I mean it would be daft to do that without a ticket but you never know, there are some people out there that want to make money and they might try doing that!
If so, your not a nice person, as there are dedicated fans that want to win it! Like me :-) :-P

I see what you mean ames, it doesn't specifically say you need to be a member of .net. However as the e-mail was only sent to .net members and is being displayed on the site I would be very surprised indeed if they meant it was open to non-members too. I would have thought they would want people to join (and pay their $40 dollars) to be able to enter.

I'm not actually a paid member of .net but I still got the email :?.

Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained :D.

yes but the difference is that you had to be a paid member at .net last time, so they had a confirmation who you were and could have (maybe?) checked if you bought tickets (through .net). And I would think that most of the paid members went to shows anyway.

I dont know 100% but I think you can sign up for the newsletter if youre not a member (of any kind) as well? The info has also been shown here and on every other site signed up for the .net RSS feed.

So basically everybody can participate and they dont have any confirmation who you are, so WHY do they say you already have to have a ticket for a show if they dont want any proof??

Well I asked them on the free forum at .net and someone said that it was open to everyone as far as they could tell ~ anyone else know any different yet?

dont know whats so complicated about this
when they say

"All fans, (yes ALL FANS)"

even repeat it, that even the last fool should get it, then I'd assume this is indeed adressed to "all fans" :wtf:

If it would go to saving starving donkeys I would sign up but I suspect that is not the case.

It's a complete farce that you pay your $40 and they "give" you a voucher for $15 to spend in the online shop. And what can you get in the shop for $15(including postage to the UK)? Zilch :(

LucyK!

I actually haven't got a clue what the membership pays for, but I guess that's a whole otehr debate!!

That's why I've voted with my feet..... I'm really not at all happy with parting from my hard earned money for what exactly? OK, individually it's not a fortune, but collectively it's pretty lucrative. Think I may change my line of business

My reason for paying the membership is the presales, because there's no way I'd have the tickets I have, and have had already, this year without access to them, and because of that I'm reluctant to not pay my membership...

Same here Lynne as knowing my luck, if I didn't pay for membership, it would prob be the only time for something rare and I'd miss out....

I've spent years of missing out on Meat Loaf concerts, due to age and I'm not missing out this time :-P
