MEAT LOAF TO HEADLINE GERMANY’S YELLO STROM WORLD BOWL XV

Meat Loaf will headline NFL Europa's championship game – Yello Strom World Bowl XV – held in Frankfurt, Germany on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Commerzbank-Arena. NFL Europa is an American football league which operates in Europe. Backed by the National Football League, The World Bowl is the American football championship game of NFL Europa, similar to the Super Bowl of the NFL.
The game marks Germany’s sports-entertainment event of the year and given Meat’s tremendous popularity in the country, his performance will make it an unforgettable experience for the over 52, 000 fans expected in attendance. Bat Out of Hell III, the third installment of rock’s greatest epic produced by Desmond Child with songs by Jim Steinman, debuted at no. 2 on the German charts upon its release in Europe on October 20, 2006. Frankfurt hosted World Bowls in 1998 and 2000 and is considered the American football capital of Germany, making it the perfect host for this year’s World Bowl XV.
Yello Strom World Bowl XV is expected to be aired around the world in more than 150 countries, including a live audience in the United States on the NFL Network.

------

When it says aired to several countries, is that via radio, tv??? Anyone from germany know more info on this and will Meat be aired too???

Let us know, this is exciting...:D

According to Meatloaf.net the show will be aired and it says: "Check your local listings for scheduled airtimes for the Yello Strom World Bowl XV and don't miss Meat Loaf's headline performance Saturday at this exciting world event".

It looks like we will be seeing Meat perform on tv :-) So check your listings and tape it :-) :-)

Ross, that's all we got of Meat on the US broadcast, him performing a shortened version of Lemon. Wonder if he did any other songs that they didn't show? Anyone elsewhere catch anything more?

according to different photo captions I've seen he did at least AFL additionally.
Show will be broadcasted here on DSF 19.30 german time (6.30pm for you ;))

According to some fan info the audience didnt really like him and boo'd him out.

meatloaf-unofficial
24 Jun 2007, 10:54
what boo'd him off!! They must of not been a Meat Loaf Fan!

To me of what I saw on then naked wire, Meat was in good health, looking good (hair combed back etc...) and sound good!

sometimes, I don't understand people!!

RadioMaster
24 Jun 2007, 10:58
well, as it's not really a Meat Loaf concert, it's not only ML fans going there, but mostly american football fans, and, whether you like it or not, most people out there are NOT Meat Loaf fans.

meat was just on
good show, did lemon, afl and booh, though all shortened versions.
I think it might have been prerecorded vocals, but I'm not sure.
Recorded it, but as just VHS, cant put it on youtube, though anybody will do, Im sure.

Bit of a strange setlist. Has he given up promoting Bat 3?That was more like promotion for the artist "Meat Loaf". Pretty effective, just think of the estimated spectator numbers.

Just been watching all the clips etc posted on nakedwire and youtube.

He must have done at least 30 minutes or so as there's clips of him doing Frying Pan and Paradise as well. They def started with Paradise as in the youtube clip you can see all the reporters rushing over etc.

as a Meat fan AND a sports fan ... i'm in accord with you... that's why i always have to laugh a bit when Meat fans complain he wasn't on long enough ... imo... if one is playing a halftime... or singing at a baseball game... it's for promotion ... and i'm always thrilled with even the wee taste of Meat i get !! ... :D ...

The setlist was:

Paradise
Frying Fan ( with flames )
Lemon
Anything
Bat

Meat played for about 20min. It was quite loud in the stadium with loads of echoes (closed roof). The press mentioned that even the announcers during the game couldn't be heard on the second balcony.

It was a great opening!

No way he was miming on "Lemon", with the shorter version he got the "parts are out of stock" segment words confused.

We had standing places behind the stage. Kasim carried Aspen out of the stadium.

Oh ok. That's a shame they didn't show the whole thing on TV. But at least we got to see some of it ... it's still great promotion for Meat :-)

Yeah that's what I thought too. It didn't make as much sense this way maybe (though probably not many of the crowd would have noticed that), but I don't think Meat messed the words up.

So are you saying that Meat was giving what the fans wanted and what they didn't want was Bat3? Just think of all the estimated spectators who haven't bought Bat3 ;)

Yes, I read in her MySpace Blog that she fell and hurt her ankle after singing Paradise at one of the shows in Germany. Thankfully it was just a sprain, and she posted that she's already doing a lot better.
