Interesting line from Meat on FB: he said that the AFL bonus track vocals were all recorded by Paul in 2014! Interesting insight for you there (I could've sworn they were mid 90s! -- but hey, what do I know -- very little, it seems!)

Yeah maybe he just meant Imelda's? I hope lol. Meat's vocals are clearly from the 90's, unless he really can still sing that style and he's just decided not to do it live for the last 20 years?

I'm now firmly of the view that 'For What It's Worth' was far too good a track to be consigned to bonus-track-obscurity (albeit that it wouldn't have been an all-Steinman album then - but it deserved a place).

This is what I assumed, but Meat seemed to lean towards HIS vocals being recorded in 2014. That said, he does tend to dash things down pretty quickly on FB, so maybe he did in fact mean Imelda and it didn't come across as clearly as it could've done? EDIT: Hm, looking back at the thread it is in direct reply to someone stating that his vocals are from the 90s though. In conclusion: who knows!

How can anyone think it's good? Maybe for hand basket, but meat doesn't make it his own like every other cover he's done.its boring and pointless we could've had some live tracks

Oh, this was the exchange for anyone interested:

Lois Wills: "Are your vocals in I Would Do Anything For Love found on the Bonus version of Braver Than We Are, recorded years ago or now?"

Meat: "It was done in LA in 2014 , before my back Surgery , I used many different voices on this record . Because all the characters were different !! You can't just play this record , you have to listen to it . People are just lazy , This record is magic . If you want to take the time to really listen."

Why not live tracks as well?

Anyhow, I'll take all of the bonus tracks over 'Skull Of Your Country', 'Only When I Feel' and (preparing to be howled down!) 'Going All The Way',, any day of the week.

Each to his own, etc ...

For me, used to be 4-5, 7, 8, 10

Now that i've gotten to know the record, goes like this

1-10 - Except I sometimes get impatient on GATW and end it about 2 mins early

I just leave it on in my car on repeat like that

It's the whole thing or nothing for me - Bonus tracks...I only really play PFL regularly at the minute.

That's the only bonus track I really listen to as well. I had another listen to AFL after ignoring it since I heard it the first time and realizing it was old vocals. I really wanted it to be current Meat re-imagining the song...

Anyways, had a few re-listens after TheDoode mentioned those fb comments...Trying to see if I could make myself believe it was recorded in 2014...I must say that a few things occurred to me:

What if they did this:
1) meat tried really hard to sing in his 90's style (Something he's shown he's capable of jokingly mimicking in some 2010 interviews)
2) They sped it up
3) They upped the tone a bit so it was similar to late 90's Meat

Do you think this could mean it actually WAS recorded in 2014? Wario Make a poll dude

PS. Off topic but random thing I came across again after a few years. Meat being funny, from 2007 i think. I miss his random singing!

I remember him being on I think Radio 2 back in the late 90s and bursting into Oklahoma so loud that he almost blew the speakers, then half way through a big line he just cut back to normal talking as though it never happened.
