A good year

If you need explosions, sex and violence every 10 seconds to keep your attention then no this film is not for you.
If you just want a relaxing, well-acted, non-American crappy plot popcorn movie then go check it out.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Not bad, first one is better I guess. Some interesting action sequences.

Resident Evil: Extinction

That's more like it! Mad Max 2 meets Day of the Dead meets Avatar/Matrix. I thought this was a really cool movie and so far the best I've seen from the franchise.
Good stuff and makes the fact I bought the boxset worthwhile after the slightly disappointing first two in this trilogy. Looking forward to catching the new one at the cinema.

I liked both films, and found them equally scary, for differant reasons. :)

lol the ending was the only thing I disliked. They went for the realistic approach, no cgi or anything and had a tiger that was supposed to behave like a real tiger and then they go for such a schmaltzy hollywood ending.

Last thing I watched was "In the Loop"

British political comedy about the things that (presumably) lead to the iraq war.
I was kinda disappointed, after the raving reviews and the trailer I would have expected more...

Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D.
The movie out of the franchise I really wanted to see, hence I caught up with the previous 3 this week as I hadn't seen these yet.
Excellent popcorn action zombie / living dead / matrix-esque movie.
Absolutely STUNNING 3D effects, of the same quality as Avatar. Great movie and leaves you with still wanting more so that's good as the movies only seem to be getting better. Onto number 5 soon I hope.

The Offence

One of Sean Connery's best performances.

Sean Connery is a great actor, but has a limited selection of characters he can play. The same with Morgan Freeman.

I agree. As fond as I am of Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman and several others, I can always see Jack and Dustin in characters they play (oh, except Dustin as Captain Hook in Hook... lol... very good, imo, or fun at the very least... lol ). When I sit down to watch JD in a film, I start out... "ahhh, there is he" and after a few minutes, "WHERE'D HE GO ?" ... lol ... Imo, his versatility is absoluting amazing. Sam from Benny & Joon is Captain Jack Sparrow ??? ... uhn uhnnnn... lol ...

Event Horizon

pretty good, I read some review that described it as Star Trek meets Hellraiser, which I think it quite fitting. There's also a lot of references to Alien or The Shining in there.

Hard to believe this comes from the same guy who 'blessed' us with Alien vs Predator or Death Race
