39. Blind Before I Stop
This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!! Blind Before I Stop (7) He! Meat! Why don't like you this song??? I know it's just a simple rock music, but I think it's good. As All Revved Up... I don't understand that why is it the title of this album? Other songs ain't tell me same. The Wembley 1987 version is the best!!! My score: 7 Average: 7.34 (117.5/16) |

I know why Meat doesn't like the song. In the album version is a strange Dance Beat in the song.
I agree with Meat, but live is this song great. A little like Midnight, the album version isn't great, but live it is f**cking great. And offcourse both songs are (co-)written by Meat himself. The music on the live version really rocks. The lyrics are simple. Great backing vocals has this song. My score: 7 |

It's a very fast and cool eighties rock song! I love it! For me, it's the best song on "Blind Before I Stop"!

On the album it's not a great song. When it's sung live it rocks.
I think this is because Meat didn't have much to do with the post production. When Meat sings it live he gets to perform it his way, rather than what a record producer made it. 6.5/10 This boy mama just want's to rock. |

I remember this album receiving a bad press at the time, but there were so many excellent tracks on here, and Blind before I Stop was one of them 9/10

I agree, Dottie. On this record he has one of his best vocal performances he has ever done.

Blind Before I Stop sounds fine to me, the dance beat a bit dodgy but it adds something different which I think had to be tried as this was the 80's when so called dance and pop ruled, Meat's voice sounds great though. 8/10

A sound I just can't get into. Good vocals though. It's tough to take a poke at this after ML gives it his own score but I go with a 6/10

Cracking rock song. I would imagine it would be a veritable crowd pleaser as evidenced from the 1987 Wembley version.
I wouldn't be able to stay in my seat, guaranteed. 8/10 |

Indeed, it rocks live but it pops on the album!
There are other songs I prefer on the BBIS album! ...there's a two ton fireball, burnin' through the headphones... hmmm, sounds familiar, ain't it? 6/10 |

A 6.5/10 from me..... gaining points for the live version and the humour of the lyrics, but loosing points for the albums production I'm afraid.... Meat when you get round to releasing that Career spanning box set, why not send Kasim into the studio with the masters for BBIS and let him produce them properly? Or failing that I'll have a go
