But to be fair 24K it did get a few good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. 74% approval rating the last time I checked. I can see why people really hated it. Comparing it to an Alfred Hitchcock type film was very accurate in my opinion. I didn't mind the ending to be honest. Nearly all films end with a happy ending these days, this was different, and I liked it.

Well I call you WHATEVER. I also don't see the relevance to what you posted in relation to "Buried". The whole movie is about the rescue.

No way can you compare this film to Hitchock's work either. It's very different and much more disturbing than anything he did.

As I said this film is simply not for everyone. In fact I would say the vast majority of movie goers probably won't like it. I'm really surprised it ramped up to number 3 in the UK box office.

A movie you shouldn't miss which is great as I've said is "The Town", and Johnny Depp is not in that one either. If he was it would have sucked probably as it would all be about him instead of a clever story and extremely good directing.

Last movie I saw was Back To The Future again in the cinema last night.

Been having a Life On Mars/Ashes To Ashes marathon of late.

I watch Life On Mars every couple of years, but i've only ever seen series 1 of Ashes To Ashes.
Just finished series 2, just series 3 to go.

All this Gene Hunt wisdom has brought on an avatar change

I'd like to think that there's not many people out there who would even consider a film called Buried as an ideal first-date movie

Oh, and as for Gene Hunt....good god, I love him. I physically love him. And I know I can get away with saying that because the person in the next room loves him as much If only more people were like the Gene Genie, the world would be a better place!

Jurassic Park 2. An ok use of a couple of hours, but nowhere near the quality of the first one.

not sure if I like that ranking

just watched Shock Treatment, the sequel to Rocky Horror.

I actually knew for ages there was a sequel, but somehow never felt the urge to check it out. I rented it today, and I'm glad I did. It's actually quite good. Of course you cant compare it to RHPS, but I dont think you should anyway. Very campy setup, a unique story, and some catchy tunes - what more do you want from a Richard O'Brien movie?

check out the title track:

Well going by some of the other reactions to that film, it sounds as if some people didn't know what was coming, hence my warning which I agree shouldn't have really been necessary. Lol.

But to be fair Steve i don't care how many good reviews Buried has had. I thought it was shite! Good luck to those who enjoyed it and thought it was a good film. Me and hubby didn't at all !

Andrew, all I know about this film is Ryan Reynolds stars and it's about a man buried in a box with only a cellphone, a book of matches and 30 minutes of oxygen and that Michelle (24K) hated it... lol ... I don't understand what you're saying to me about "relevance". I don't know why you're so angry sounding toward me... or ... Johnny Depp for that matter ... ... I'm glad you enjoyed the film. At least I think you did, right ? One minute you sound as though you're defending the film and the next wondering why it made so much money...

I'm still looking forward to POTC 4 ... ... lol ...

I saw the new Robin Hood and thought it was good, not sure about Crowe's accent though.

I also watched a very good Shane Meadows film called dead mans shoes

To Catch A Yeti

The annoying fat kid has a certain entertainment factor and that beard suits Meat very well but the yeti (???) looks like a cheap toy. Poor kids who had to watch that - and poor Meat Loaf fans who endure such flicks just because their hero decided to take part in them. At least it was was a leading part and not another "blink and you'll miss me" appearance.

Capitalism: A Love Story
Probably Michael Moore's best. Surprisingly good really. Almost a sequel to his Roger & Me in many ways. Enjoyed watching it (though that sounds rather strange considering the subject matter and some of the depressing things you see). It does have a kind of a happy end focusing on the Obama presidential win, though I get the impression that actually has made very little difference to communities throughout the USA so far or the country's foreign policies. There is a whole new movie Moore could make about that but doubt he will.
If you enjoyed his previous documentaries such as Fahrenheit 9/11 you will probably like this one too. Well put together and keeps you entertained or engrossed I should say.

Smile

Yesterday was a day of bonding with husband and at least watching happy endings plus an entire film I've been looking forward to seeing... lol ... Husband and I watched the end of Dirty Dancing... we cried ... I watched the end of Hair while husband busied himself in the kitchen ... I cried ... HOWEVER... lol ... I was not aware Ellen Foley was in the film Hair !!! That was a bit of a meatie connect. And when will husband learn not to channel surf with me in room ? Maybe he learned his lesson yesterday, although he WAS the one to point out Staten Island, starring... omg be still my heart... agaaain... Vincent D'Onofrio and it was coming on in two minutes and WE WATCHED IT ... lol ... It's a mob film AGAIN... lol ...Ethan Hawke was in it, too and it was a quirky , indie sort of film that I enjoyed. The character of the deaf butcher made the film for me. Will I watch it again ? Oh, yeah... ...
