Total Eclipse has already been used in another show of Jim's (not, as TWG pointed out, like that would stop him from using it, foolhardy as I think that would be).

I could be wrong, but I expected pretty much all of Bat and Bat 2 to be included in some form, so up to now what has been confirmed how I would have imagined it.
I would think the rest will be from the remaining Bat/Bat 2 songs (Frying Pan, Just Won't Quit, Lost Boys, All Revved Up, Heaven Can Wait, Everything Louder) And based on the original website I am still expecting a couple more non Meat songs. Oh and Love And Death And An American Guitar (Wasted Youth - whichever you prefer) is clearly in there as well. |

Surely HEAVEN CAN WAIT and ALL REVVED UP have to be in to make the whole of Bat 1? I can understand stuff being left off Bat 2, that was longer, plus we have All Comin Back, two from BTWA then the two 'new' songs

Well, if memory serves, although we've been told that things have changed, Jim once said on his old blog that there would be 15 songs from Bat I & II (which suggests, to me, all 7 on the first one and 8 from the second) in addition to 3 new ones.
So far, that's one thing that hasn't changed all that much -- we are now hearing there are 17 songs total in the show, 2 of which are new (or "new," depending on what fandom you're in), and we've already identified 15 (16 if you count "Wasted Youth," but I consider that dialogue). I don't think we've got far to go. So far, the song count (excerpted from Danny's posts) is: Bat I: BAT OUT OF HELL, TOOK THE WORDS, TWO OUTTA THREE, PARADISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHT, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD Dead Ringer: DEAD RINGER FOR LOVE Bat II: ANYTHING FOR LOVE, LIFE IS A LEMON AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK, ROCK N ROLL DREAMS COME THROUGH, OBJECTS IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR Bat III: IT'S ALL COMING BACK TO ME NOW Braver: WHO NEEDS THE YOUNG, SPEAKING IN TONGUES Miscellaneous / New: NOT ALLOWED TO LOVE, WHAT PART OF MY BODY HURTS THE MOST Last edited by letsgotoofar; 07 Nov 2016 at 15:19. |

The musical songs have basically nothing to do with the Meat Loaf songs. They are Jim Steinman songs. I am sure with some different arrangements, different performance etc. But I don't think the Meat Loaf 'fans' identify them this way. I think the fans are well aware of the difference. It's more for the non-fans that know the songs or perhaps the albums that will identify them this way. Not sure any of them visit this board though |

If they want to make this successful they need to cater to far more than the fanbase! And that's a very good thing:-
General rock and musical theatre fans, people who want a good night out and fans of shows such as We Will Rock You will come and see Bat, the songs will be exposed to a brand new audience. They will live on through productions of this show I only got into Queen after seeing WWRY, buying The Platimum Collection. As a Meat/Jim fan, and a musical theatre fan in general, I'm so excited for the new arrangements etc., and to see what context the songs will take in the story. I've wanted this for a long long time Thisis a new beginning for Steinman's work, some of his most known tracks. |

My guess is "All Revved Up" and "Heaven Can Wait" -- those are the only two I have known to be in the show before that make sense.

Definitely no Still The Children or i would have thought they would have included it in the "not released" songs. And I wonder if it's use in the Wuthering Heights tv thing would mean no future.

Speech by Tony Smith (Manager for Pink Floyd) one of the producers Meat Loaf spoke for ages and he was on fine form The cast performed brilliantly Deadringer, 2outof3, then a phenomenal Bat out of Hell. You have to hear Andrew in person, he's amazing!!! Make sure you book! |
