Default Different Masters

So you know how in one of the interviews Meat Loaf did he said the reviewer had a CD with an incorrect matter which made his vocals lose the high end... I have just listened to the DVD from the Deluxe Edition and the vocals on there (although they are only background clips) sound much clearer and crisper than on my Tesco CD. I'm going to try the Amazon CD in the car and see if I can tell any difference in sound between that and the Tesco one. Got me thinking again though... did some of the incorrect masters make it out to the public? Or is it just coincidence and the difference in the media formats?

I've got both as well, I'll compare tonight.

I can't speak for the CDs in the UK. But I have the cd/dvd version from Amazon here in the USA and it sounds identical to the copy I received from Target

The iTunes version sounds best overall, IMO. No weird CD compression.

We haven't opened the Vinyl...And I don't plan to. I might go pick up a Vinyl LP from the store that isn't signed.

Vinyl is to be played!!! You are denying it it's purpose! It wants to play you music! People like you drive me crazy.

So....can I have it or...?

We're getting another non-signed copy in a week or so. THAT ONE will be played.

Well... I don't know if I am imagining it because I want it to be there... and I have not done any scientific test... but there may be a very slight extra amount of treble across the Amazon album, and in some parts Meat sounds a tiny bit less buried in the mix. But the difference (if there even is one!) Is absolutely minimal. I have some Nectar points burning a hole in my pocket so I may get the album off Sainsbury's and see if the MP3 sounds different :)

I didn't get the iTunes version, but I did get the radio edit of Going All The Way - which I now don't seem to own anymore (!?). One thing I remember is when it was on rolling stone the "Sometimes it's the night" echo at the beginning of the song seemed very loud and dominating, while on iTunes it was barely there (and sounded much better without it).

Seems funny for there to be so many tiny little diffences between all the streams and some versions. I have no doubt the vinyl will sound better than the CD though.

Not sure if it is a good idea to leave the vinyl sealed when it is signed. I bought one autographed to display as art, so I was planning to remove the sealing and the LP's and put it in a special album frame.

Yup. IF my vinyl arrives I am planning on doing the same. Remove the sealing but probbably leave the LP's in the sleeve (wouldn't know where to put them elswhere ) and have them framed.

I ordered a frame made especially for LP's if there is room I may just leave the discs inside but if it is a questionable fit I will probably remove them to lessen the risk of some sort of damage to the discs themselves.

IKEA has LP frames for 6 bucks (at least they do over here) and they have enough room to fit a double LP.
