Default Bat out of Hell Musical

Are we expecting it to be reformed or have we seen the end of it?

Hopefully reformed to its original version. But unfortunately I don't think so.

Do we think Jim would be horrified with how it ended up being a karaoke show?

It's the opposite of what he wanted (i.e. a jukebox musical).

But Jim's original (ish - given how long the show was in development) premise was never going to happen for a multitude of reasons (one being age and nudity related and how the zeitgeist wouldn't work in its favor).

Age old battle: Art VS profit.

Jim former.

Sonenberg + producers latter.

Jim didn't have the energy to fight them (they cast the entire first run behind his back, locked him out, at which he was horrified and 'badly shaken').

Hence you got what you got.

I've said it here, and privately when I speak to TWG (fairly often), that in this day and age, if he wanted anything combining all of his premises to happen, it would've been as a limited series with a finite ending on one of the streamers, maybe with a song or two per episode.

As it stands, I think in the cold light of day, the more it fades from memory, the more (some, not all) people realize that they weren't truly happy with the Bat musical they got; they were just excited that anything resembling it actually happened in Jim's lifetime.

Watched Rock of Ages for the first time yesterday.
Great 80s rock songs obviously, but what a piss poor excuse of a musical movie.
Unlikeable characters, non existent story, no focus whatsoever.
Russel Brand and Alec Baldwin in a romance, Jesus H Christ...!

Sounds like the success of Glee and We Will Rock You (I don't like that one either) not only influenced that pile of trash but what happened to Bat probably too.
