I agree. The first hour is slow. But I love how this one explains some of the issues that fans had with the original Star Wars movie (like why the Empire didn't fix that one flaw in the Death Star, that made it able to destroy. Or why Luke was Red 5 in Star Wars at his first rebel mission)
And there are so many nods too, also plenty of cameos. And the last 30 or 40 minutes are the perfect connection to the original trilogy.
That's why I said that this is a true prequel.
