When was the last time he was seen in public. The Dream Engine concerts? |

I think seeing physical proof that Jim isn't dead will be enough WOW for me, though  |
Quote:

He was said to be OK after he cancelled his appearance at Amherst. I do think the Dream Engine was the last time he was reportedly seen in public. I doubt he will play anything. I was hoping he might tell Meat he can have the music track of "Body" that Dream Engine supposedly recorded to add vocals to for the next album. If it exists Jim probably "executive produced" it. As it stands now it is going to waste gathering dust and Jim seems not to care if it gets released or not.

The event is tomorrow night. I wonder if Meat is in New York yet?

The pic of Meat and Jim together is so great. I really want to see some video but I doubt anyone did it. Thank you so much for all the info Wario.
|
Some great pictures, so fantastic to see Meat and Jim back together in person again.
|
Thanks Wario - you're a star! :-)
|
Great photos. That's like a billion years since there's been a photo of them together.
Bat out of Hell 4ever! |
Great to see Jim and Meat together. They make a lovely couple.:-)
|
Saw 5 seconds of Meat doing Bat with Constantine, and a brief "Thank You very much" from JS after Meat introduce Jim as his best friend. (TV)
|
Great pics of Jim, Meat and Patti. Thanks for sharing. Meat & Patti look younger every time I see them.
|
So good to see Steinman there, Meat and Jim together has made my day. One of the best duo's in Music, IMHO.
Really wish there was a video, you know it's good when people take to twitter to say how good it is! |
fantastic pics that i never thought i would see
cheers for the links and pics guys, keep em comin :) |
Loads of pics on the Getty site
|
Fantastic! (hello again, its been a while since I posted here...)
So happy to see my favourite songwriter be recognised at last, and Meat being there to enjoy it. It looks like they've been able to put the past behind them and are friends again. I do hope before BOOH The Musical gets put on (hopefully not too long now!) they record at least an EP together to bring closure to BOOH: The Records properly. Heck, ANYTHING Meat & Jim would be brilliant! |
 Those guys
This guy - Meat is better. That guy - Jim is better. This guy - Meat doesn't need Jim. That guy - If it wasn't for Jim there wouldn't be Meat Loaf. This guy - Jimmy can't write anymore. That guy - Meat can't sing like he used to. This guy - Meat is this. That guy - Jim is that. What those guys will never understand............... Congrats Jimmy. No more than you deserve, and a hell of a long time overdue 8) |

If this pic is any indication of Meat and Patti's wardrobe for the new tour, I love it!
http://www.zimbio.com/photos/Patti+R...on/eYLQvwuS_33 Congratulations to Jim Steinman- a well-deserved honor! There are also a few AP pics here: http://www.apimages.com/Search.aspx?...cfasstyle=AND& |
And hopefully one step closer to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...can't understand why their not there yet

I think the decisions are just made by a handful of arrogant self righteous people rather than people in the industry itself who would be better judges. I don't think it's a case of someone getting enough backing by people in the industry, it's just down to a handful of self important people like i said. Of course i could be talking complete bollocks lol. |

Michael Jackson, for instance, may have been the "king of pop" but he wasn't anything I would ever call rock n roll. I'd still like to see him nominated, and see him accept and be inducted, but i'm not as baffled and outraged at his absence as I was before  |

Here's some MLUKFC exclusive footage from Jim's induction. Please note that we have explicit permission from Jim and Meat.
Enjoy! |

They are the same age and ML has had noted weight problems and a notorious lifestyle, yet he looks far less worse for wear. |
Who cares what Jim looks like! It is great to see him and Meat together again. Without Jim . Well you can fill the rest in.................................. and visa versa. He seems like a nice person with a great sense of humour.:-)

1) What is the comment that Meat Loaf makes about It's All Coming Back To Me Now? I can't make the last bit of it out. He lists a heap of Jim's songs, and then goes "And that Celine Dion song which I ___." What's the blank? 2) The fact that he quoted It Just Won't Quit both surprised me and made my night, for whatever reason. I didn't expect him to come out with something so obscure  Jim's speech had me giggling the whole time. Thank you for all the erections you gave my heart  |
I just can't remember what Meat said. Oh yeah! something about not taking his fish oil tablets. It's all coming back to me now

Thank you for posting. I think that Meat gave one of the greatest and heartfelt speeches I have ever heard...
|
Thanks for posting the vids R.
Great to see Mr Steinman back up on a stage but, like a couple of people have commented on, the last few years have taken their toll on him. Just to add, that was a really great speech by Sir Loaf |
I wonder if there is gonna be a fourth erection after the third wasn't quite erect enough.
|
Can we agree for once that this was a very special night with two well-crafted speeches doing the legend and the ceremony justice?!!
|
Quote:
Many thanks to them both  Quote:
Thought Meat's speech was very funny and full of warmth and affection. Jimmy was his usual oddball funny self. The heart erection made me :lmao: But some of Jimmys speech wasn't too clear because of all the laughter in the room  |
Thank you very much Rainer, and Meat and Jim for their permission

Amazing Speech, you can really feel the love between Meat and Jim, as well as how much Meat admires Jim. An amazing speech.

I guess the SHOF are the ones to have exclusive official footage including the performances and may put it up on their website songhall.com eventually. |
You just know there has always been that love and respect between them no matter what's happened.

Good enough for me and for me to thank him ;) Caryl |
fantastic! The ijwq reference made it even better! Hope thats some sort of indication IJWQ may get into the set this summer :P
great videos. Meat and Jim are the greatest things that ever happened to music ever. |
What a heartfelt induction.......from the For Crying Out Loud lyric opening to the It Just Won't Quit lyric closing.....just magical. Thank you so much to all the powers that be to let us see history unfold.

I'm delighted Jim was there to receive his honour, and more delighted meat had the job of introducing him :) for any fan of the legendary partnership of meat and jim, it's quite simply superb. if i may ask, what was the experience like? what was the steinman medley performance like? a once in a life time opportunity, and thank you both again for capturing and sharing it with us. Fabulous!! |
Quote:

Don't you just love the internet? I know there's a lot of bad stuff that circulates on it, but it is just SO great when we get to see things like this, which would never be possible without it. Thanks R.

Performance
Instead of expressing comments about Jim's physical state and neck that looks like the one of my french bulldog, does anyone have a link to Meat's performance of Bat?? :D

Thanks for posting the awesome videos and pics. Congrats to Jim! Meat looks sharp and Patti is gorgeous. My dream team collaboration is for Jim to write a new duet for Meat and Patti.
|
What an amazing night it seems. Too bad there are no performance videos up :( Would have LOVED to see that
|
Favorite Meat moment:
him breaking down as he said "I can never repay him" Favorite Jim moment: "I always fear my headstone will be heavily edited...like my songs tonight...for those of you watching Glee" LOL |
Quote:
Lighten up guys, Jim would have a sense of humour. I'm sure that he could have that fixed if he wanted, but he has character that I wouldn't have. ;) And YES I would love to see the performances. They have to floating around the internet somewhere. |

They both helped each other in ways that cannot be measured. |

Let's not chaps. The subject of wether Bat III should or should not have been called Bat III is an old one, and one that's never going to be resolved to everybody's satisfaction. There's no sense in raking over old dead coals, especially on a thread celebrating the recognition and honour given to Jimmy in being inducted to the Hall Of Fame. |
That was a nice vid, Meat looks great, Jim looks so bad. If you ask me, no chance to Jim & Meat work together. After I saw Jim's leaving the stage I grabbed my head and shaked. He looks very old and... hell... sick. Anyway, it was nice to see Jim again but no chance to work together. Meat can record Steinman songs but not under Jim's hand...
