Slow Burn - not bad at all...although I've figured it out despite the twists and turns...

Pnemonition...utter crap in my opinion...you know mystery/suspense movie ain't so good when the running time is 1-1/2 hours and you fell like you've been watching this movie for the last 10 or so hours...

LucyK! 15 Aug 2007 15:25

Oh really? We absolutely loved Premonition...obviously Sandra Bullock is a bonus but I loved the story

Well...the time travel has been done...and didn't like the ending...and not just because she is actually a cause of her husband's death...which was hard to take...her being pregnant didn't add anything...she already had two children...and the story just wasn't moving for us...

Sorry for any spoilers...

But I do love Sandra Bullock...I liked The Lake House much much better...

Not to mention Butterfly Effect...

LucyK! 15 Aug 2007 15:30

Oh don't even start me on The Lake House :bicker:

AndyK 15 Aug 2007 15:35

Oh no ... I can feel another explanation of the space and time contimuum coming on :lmao:

The Lake House and Premonition ... both great films. And both greater films than the Pleasure Drivers ;-)

LucyK! 15 Aug 2007 15:37

My first nativity is a greater film than the Pleasure Drivers, sorry Meat

Didn't like that one? I am a sap for romance and I like both Keanu and Sandra...

mszee 15 Aug 2007 15:38

Haven't seen Pleasure Drivers...didn't seem like a movie for me...Meat or no Meat...

AndyK 15 Aug 2007 15:45

I honestly think everyone should watch The Pleasure Drivers once ... why should we be the only ones who suffer?

mszee 15 Aug 2007 15:51

Well, I watched Titanic and Moulen Rouge if it makes you feel better...actually...I fell asleep during Titanic and walked out on Moulen Rouge...so not sure it counts...

Premonition

Hypnobabe 18 Aug 2007 10:01

The Bourne Ultimatum - very good apart from the whizzy camera work that makes me feel like I'm sitting too close to the screen...

Cpl Mickey 18 Aug 2007 11:39

The Hive on tv Thursday night about killer ants. Not Bad

Hypnobabe 18 Aug 2007 22:09

mszee 20 Aug 2007 13:57

Saw Zodiac and a two old Bourne movies...in case I want to see the last one at the movies...

RadioMaster 20 Aug 2007 14:33

final destination 1 and 2

LucyK! 20 Aug 2007 14:34

Great films RJ, I love those! Have you seen Final Destination 3? Another good one but certainly a lot more graphic than the first two!

RadioMaster 20 Aug 2007 14:37

its on my list.
I think the first one has a great atmosphere, while the second one has more of a real story, than just killing everybody on the list.

LucyK! 20 Aug 2007 14:40

I saw FD 2 at the cinema and then saw FD 1 afterwards, the second one is much better, like you say much more of a story going on with more to think about...I guess the third one is a bit of both, the story continues but they had to find new ways to shock the audience with how the people die, very graphic!

RadioMaster 20 Aug 2007 14:43

It's actually a bit like the SAW series, they always try to increase the gore factor instead of coming up with a good story or new ideas. (just assuming, as i havent seen FD 3 yet)

Hypnobabe 20 Aug 2007 15:04

A bit fluffy and romantic, but "Ever After: A Cinderella Story"

RadioMaster 25 Aug 2007 00:34

lol
booh is more like american pie

first one new and original, second one even topped it and pushed it further, so was the best one and the third one a poor parody without new ideas

AndrewG 25 Aug 2007 00:53

Hairspray!
Superb musical. Really well done.

Hypnobabe 25 Aug 2007 12:01

Sue K 26 Aug 2007 00:25

... Jaws... you know... i couldn't help having the thought during the week as i listened to a group on the radio discussing swimming in the ocean... pro & con... how once a human being dives into the ocean... it goes one step down the food chain... hunh?... lol... Jaws brings that all home to me... and i always cheer for the shark... lol ... after all... once one dives into the sea ... one's on the shark's turf... and plate... lol ... LUNCH !!!!!!!!!!!! ...

RadioMaster 26 Aug 2007 00:42

never got Jaws. The movie's just totally riddiculous. Dont understand why it's a classic. Not even mentioning the sequels lol.

Last thing I watched was the entire third season of scrubs.

classic?... who knows... what makes a classic?... i like some of the lines... and have seen it so many times can quote several... i enjoy the coming together of the three main characters... the Chief... Hooper... and Quint ... three different walks of life... three totally different types... all coming together with one purpose... the shark is sort of Quint's Moby Dick eventually... the Chief... i have a fondness for... quite frankly so i enjoy the character... also... ticks me the hell off... that the mayor would allow the beach to stay open at the expense of human lives... i know... for economic reasons... perhaps if i were in the same boat... no pun intended ... having to survive due to tourism i'd feel the same ?... but it was really quite wrong... but then... if he'd closed the beach.... there wouldn't have been a film hunh?... lol...

anyroad... sorry you don't like it... and glad for me i do... ;) ...

take care...

t...

oh... last film watched still... hehehe... Jaws... goooOOOO SHARK !!! ... ...

And dont forget that Jaws was as good as it got at the time and it was considered very scary!! Jaws 3 was shown in some cinemas as 3D thats why some of the bits seem a bit odd!! Jaws 4 was abit much tho but there again it does have Michael Caine in it!!

Sue K 26 Aug 2007 02:10

... still Jaws... and ... hang me... lol... i'm a fan of the final one as well... at least i HOPE it's the final... i'm a fan of Michael Caine... and i liked the spunk of Ellen Brody to go out and get the "S-O-B" that took her family members away... and threatened others... errr... meaning the shark... not Michael Caine... :lmao: ...

SamCat 26 Aug 2007 02:13

I love all the Jaws films but 2 is my favourite!!

Actually I think it's one of Spielberg's finest and one of the best films ever made. Maybe you think the shark looks fake but besides that there's some really good acting in the movie by Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss. The editing in my opinion was phenominal for its time and the story is pretty good too. Plus the simple music motif really put shivers down people's spine at the time. This was pretty much the first blockbuster of modern day cinema. Without Jaws I don't think Movies today would be the same. To not call it a classic is probably as bad as not calling Bat out of Hell a classic! ;-)

Sue K 26 Aug 2007 02:54

... still Jaws for me... and we're in accord about the three actors... they were very believable in their roles ! ... as for Jaws 2 ... i don't know... i think the only saving grace for me there was that Chief Brody was still on the scene... and Jaws 3... i think i saw about half of that one and bailed... imo... ... i think it was made just for the money... and when i see it said it was in theaters to be seen with 3-D glasses ?... a gimmick... i kind of think i'm right about my only put out there for the money thought... as for the last one... i think somebody wanted to bring closure... and make money... lol.. but i found it more entertaining than the second and third... so the first and last are my faves... with the first... lol... as many times as i've seen it?.. i STILL jump at that one scene.. where Hooper's in the cage and sharkie swims by?... but then suddenly comes out of nowhere and bumps the cage?... i jump and get the nervous giggles everytime... lol ...

The Hills Have Eyes...I didn't...I was doing my sudoku and listened...but at least now I can participate in deep philosophical discussion about this movie...:lmao:

Lucky Number Slevin...GOOD movie...thought the part where you don't understand what's going on went on too long...some people might have turned off or tuned out before it all becomes clear...but hey...STILL good movie...

Wild Hogs, currently watching The Queen..

Blackkat13 03 Sep 2007 05:16

I own Lord of the rings 1 and rented the rest. From what I seen it should have been a 3 hour movie total not so dragged out.....too much walking....Anyone want to buy my LOTR 1 dvd lol...tring to get rid of it may be used as a gag gift for christmas.

mszee 03 Sep 2007 06:28

I slept almost through the entire First Lord of The Rings, less so on the second and don't think I've slept at all during the last one...either they improved...or I developed super human resilience...

Blackkat13 03 Sep 2007 07:35

Andersonville good movie

LOTR's Yeah way to boring.... I want to know where was all the action and all I heard so much about and yep this is a good movie to put your kids to sleep with.

A joke me & a few friends have noticed the same actor has taken down 2 hobbits in 1 tv show and the other in a movie. Kinda funny in a way 2 down 1 to go.

1 hobbit beating Sean Astin Toy Soliders

1 Hobbit getting it Dominic Monaghan LOST

Pan's Labyrinth...

Brilliant movie but VERY depressing...

LucyK! 04 Sep 2007 10:00

Caught some of Lord Of The Rings on C4 on Sunday...we turned it on when it had already started so I missed the beginning but there didn't seem to be anything/anyone in it that made me want to sit and watch the rest...ended up hemming trousers instead :p

Last night we watched I Want Candy...British film about two guys who make a porn film...really quite good, very funny and light hearted  I shall leave Andy to comment on Carmen Electra! :p

AndyK 04 Sep 2007 10:24

As if I'd pass comment on a pnuematic blonde? ;-)

Good fun film though ... although the loudest laugh came from the extras when Jimmy Carr was interviewed ... "I only agreed to do the film because I thought it was a real porno"

LucyK! 04 Sep 2007 10:28

...and that confirms I fell asleep after the film finished! At least I made it to the end credits though! :yay:

Catched Panic Room on tv last night, and was very disappointed.
It's not a bad movie, but the typical mood, camera angles, etc of a typical Fincher movie were totally absent.

jayde_meatfan4life 09 Sep 2007 11:35

the simpsons movie - sooo funny!!!

mszee 09 Sep 2007 16:46

Technically it was some old movie based on an old Harold Robbins book which is as memorable as it's title which I can't recall only 45 minutes after finishing watching it...

Watch two dumb movies over this weekend - such was the mood.

Because I Said So and She's the Man...good enough for tired people who don't want either pay attention to the movie they are watching or even remember it at all...but I do have to say...at least I remember titles of those...
