That was my last film too (before the rumours start, not with Mick Loaf :lol:).

I would agree that in terms of character development and sheer quality, Bryan Singer's influence is sorely missed.

However, it is after all a comic book movie, and it features some superb action scenes, and is more "spectacular" than the previous 2.

Thoroughly recommend it.

Mick Loaf 13 Jul 2006 18:21

Pirates 2. Entirely too long. Some funny bits and good set pieces
but can't help the feeling it was all just a set up for the third
and another opportunity to rake in sacks of cash.

Highlight.... SPOILER ALERT for people who haven't seen Piarates 2!
Barbosa at the end? I liked that and I think that will be something to do with how Jack will "survive"

i watched Kinsey tonight.

The Calendar Girls

Hypnobabe 17 Jul 2006 11:35

Spiderman on telly last night

AndrewG 17 Jul 2006 12:00

Superman Returns

Best bits IMO:
The Opening Credits (This REALLY sent shivers down my spine and brought tears to my eyes, it's amazing. Well done guys!)
The Music (There is no Superman without John Williams' tune IMO).
Plane sequence is okay.
According to me the 1978 version is still the best. But this one is still worth seeing. Bring on "Superman Returns Again" :))

More spoilers (sorry):
Kevin Spacey seemed a bit too mean/violent to be a good Lex Luthor, but that's just my opinion.
