This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!

45 Seconds Of Ecstasy (2)

He! Meat! Susan Wood is your relative? What does it want to mean?
1st: It isn't 45 seconds cause it's more than 1 minute!
2nd: You don't sing in it!
3rd: It's a feeble boogie-chanson!
Well...

My score: 2 (Because you can always find worse songs!)

Average: 4.33 (86.5/20)

I need to agree on this song White. If you can call it a song.

My score: 3

This one isn't a song, so I'm not going to rate it. It's simply an intermezzo sung by Susan Wood. I cannot surely say what it means, even the song isn't 45 seconds long. But my opinion is, that it suits the album,...really.

I think it is very funny and creepy, but still it's fun. It fits in the whole albums, what is kind of a story..... Without okay, the album would still survive, but he, this is fun.

Whaaaaat??? a 3?? This song is wonderful. It is humor , it is swinging(when you are winning) and she sings about making love or something like that, i mean 45 seconds of extacy.
It is fun and i like to listen to it and ofcourse it is a song!

8/10

Are you sure this isn't a Steinman song. He's the only person I know who streches 45 seconds to over a minute  .
Again,no Meat loaf,so not a good thing  .
3/10 Not very extatic.

I like this track, it makes me smile  I think it is placed just right in the Neighbourhood album, and coming just after Original Sin makes me wonder if he's just found the ultimate original sin leading to the ecstacy!

Sums up life, the pleasures are few and far between but boy the sensations they create........

This ain't a track, so I don't rate it.

It starts, it ends, so [imho] it's a track... "Intermezzo" on the other hand isn't a track, it's an annoying bit of trendy Celtic fiddling

But back to "45 seconds" is a groovy , upbeat little song which features someone who can sing (in comparrison to most of those so-called singers today) and some tongue-in-cheeky lyrics. There are better songs, and I don't know if it should be on the album or not, but for me, it works. Both Original Sin and Running For the Red Light (which I like less, actually) are pretty uptempo rockers, and this gives you some breathing room. It's miles better than "Las almas..."

Verdict: *me* likes! 7.5/10

I don't see a 1 minute song as a track. Well mebbe as a track but not as a serious song. A song that could be released etc.

But this song just cuts right through the complexity!

i think it really fits with the whole idea of the album, especially after original sin ;)

i'd say 8, as i like songs that are there for a reason :)

It flows well, where its' placed on the album. So it fits the mood of the album, too. Not my favorite track, but it works in the right setting!
My Score: 6

This song is just fun. nothing more nothin less. it is just there because it is funny. reggae on a rock album is funny. you won't expect anything like this when you have heard the album for the first time. Therefore it is typical for the work of Meat (and Jim). Why nobody sees it this way.

Because everybody has his/her own opinions :)

Anyway, I like it enough to dig it, if you get my drift.
It will never be my favourite, but there....

I love singing this tune! (won't call it a song).

I agree with others that it is a strange item to have on the CD, but heaps better than Las Almas Perdidas - why was this ever put on the CD.

By the way, we have a news anchor in NZ by the name of Susan Wood.....when I first saw who was singing I could not get her face out of my head (she is a tiny white woman.... not the sound this track conveys).

I give it 7/10

I think "45 seconds" is 1:06 of unnecessary filler. No one would have missed it if it wasn't there.

I like this one. It's a good song with an 6 out of 10. I like her singing. And it has good place on the album. It's still a good track, but just a good track. :)

Gotta agree with JC, I can in no way manage to get myself to like this song, no matter how hard I try. Especially as it's surrounded with songs like I'd Lie For You, Where The Rubber Meets The Road and Left In The Dark, this just don't cut it for me, I almost always skip this song, as is the case with Las <whatever it's called, I can't remember>. I am sure that someone, somewhere has a good reason for including this, but for the life of me I can't see it.

The story behind WTTN was about a boy's life from his first date 'til his death, right? I think it's pretty obvious what this song is about. Doing the horizontal boogie, or however you'd like to call it. With that in mind, it fits the concept.
Also, reconsider the last name of the singer. I suspect a pseudonym :)

This "track" definitely deserves to be in the WTTN story line but I do not consider it as a song but as an "intermezzo".

And of course "45 Seconds Of Ecstasy" between "Sin" and "Red Light" is not too difficult to understand what it is about!

2/10 something missing here... maybe Meat's voice on it... :))

this song is soooo funny. First time back in 95 when i listen to the record, i had to laugh so loud when i hear this. It is just funny that it is on the album. I like it. It makes me happy. And the woman sings very well.

All I can say is why is it there?

I don't think it fits at all on WTTN, unlike Intermezzo or some of the Steinman penned "fillers".

I reckon it's a mistake, an elaborate April Fools Day prank gone wrong - rather like Microsoft :D

I think Susan has a great voice. I just dont get the point to the song or why it was put on any album? Who is susan wood anyway and why was she never used again?

I HATE this song. I scorn, and despise it. Whoever wrote this so called "song" needs to be punished, severely. It is an utterly pointless, stupid excuse for a track, and gives the worst example of Meat Loaf ever.

Cute song...but don't know about having it on that album...and I hate the idea that it comes right after Original Sin...I don't want my mood lightened up after the Original Sin...I want more of the same...JMO

I thoroughly enjoy this song, sure it ain't Meat, but ah, it reminds me of some people I used to know ...

No offense intended to anyone, but my computer had a nasty bug or something at some point, and it wouldn't play anything but 45 seconds.... that was the night they attempted to blow up London. Sad, but humourous in a sick kind of way.

That aside, it's an enjoyable and fun song that breaks the montony a bit, 8/10.

Just like Meat said on 23rd of april 2003 before the concert in Amsterdam. "Everybody ask me why is Do it on the album? Well, it is there cause it is fun! "

Probably same reason with 45 seconds....

It's a strange intermezzo IMO. I don't think it is bad, it's quite well done in fact.

I may be wrong because it's probably very meaningful, but I consider it a fun 'bridge' between two songs. Perhaps true ecstacy only lasts 45 seconds!

It's cool!

probably just me

only because i can see how it fits on the album
