Q: I've only just really become a fan of meatloaf so I'm still learning lot about himself and his music. I was wondering whether you could clear up a question for me. I recently heard a version of "Surfs up" that did not sound as if it was meatloaf singing, has this song been covered by another artist or not? A: I don't think covered is the right word, you probably have heard the version of "Surf's Up" by Jim Steinman. He released his own album called "Bad for Good" in 1981 which "Surfs Up" is on. Meat didn't record "Surf's Up" until the "Bad Attitude" album in 1984, so I suppose technically you could say Meat covered Jim's song! Anne |
Q: If and when will Meat be releasing a single or album? Here's hoping it will be soon. A: Meat is currently working on a new studio album called "Funhouse", there is no confirmed release date yet, but we expect it to be late 2001. Anne |
Q: Does Meat Loaf still do concerts? If so, how can I go about getting tickets? A: Yes! Meat Loaf toured UK and Europe in 1999 with "The Very Best Of Meat Loaf" Tour. He followed that with the "Storytellers" Tour in the US/Canada in 1999/2000. We would expect there to be a tour following the release of his upcoming studio album "Funhouse", (see previous question) but as of yet have no confirmed dates. Details of when and how to get tickets will be posted on this site and in the press as soon as information is available. Anne |
Q: Who was the people doing Nocturnal Pleasures. Is Jim Steinman one of them? A: Yes Jim Steinman wrote and produced Nocturnal Pleasures. For more information on Jim Steinman go to the Dream Pollution web site. Anne |
